Getting Started

Parents:

1. Simply create an account.

2. In the search section, find the groups you want to join (or have them send you an invite)

3. Enjoy!

 

Leaders:

1. Create an account.

2. To create a Free group/unit follow these instructions:

  1. Click on the tab “Groups”
  2. Click “Create a Group”
  3. Fill in the blanks.  Please read the instructions, some blanks cannot be undone.
3. After you have created your group, the system automatically created a blog site.  You may import your current blog into ScoutLife or start from scratch.  The template we have offered is very powerful, but it works right away.  Enjoy making changes to “make it your own”.
4. Make cub groups of your main group. Some examples:
  1. Patrols
  2. Leader groups
  3. Dens
  4. Committees
  5. or if this is a council site, break it up by type (BSA, Cub Scouts, Venturing, Brownies, etc) Then they can make sub groups.
  6. There is no limit on the number of groups or subgroups you can make.
  7. Any groups that have youth as members, please make “private” and “invisible”
  8. Please do not make a “blog” for subgroups unless they really want a separate web site from the top tier. Leave that button unchecked.
5. Enter your first event.  Play around with this wonderful and powerful calendar.  Enter max attendance, fees, attach it to a group, etc. More features being added soon.
