Scouts and Parents:

A vital service opportunity for scouts is coming this weekend and the next. Oct. 30 ( Bags-Out ) and Nov. 5 ( Bags-In ) are the dates for SCOUTING FOR FOOD. The Central Virginia Food Bank depends on the Scouts, on US, for a significant portion of their stock of food entering the Thanksgiving / Christmas holiday season. A growing number of families in our larger community depend on the food bank for their sustenance.

Only the most vital of conflicts should prevent  a scout and a driver-parent from participating in this crucial service to our community.  Emergency appendectomy will be accepted; a rain shower will not. Hunger is not weather sensitive. We have a large territory and will need close to 100% to successfully cover it and give real substance to the oft-repeated oath / promise  “to help other people at all times.”
