Pinewood Derby

Race will be held on January 21^st in the school cafeteria

Weigh in starts at 2:00pm

First race starts at 2:30pm

Rules and Background

Pinewood kits are available at most of the local hobby stores as well as the scout store.

Cars must be built/finished by the boys with ASSISTANCE of the parent.

Cars must run on official BSA wheels and axles.

Cars cannot be over 5 ounces total.

The post office has a scale that should be pretty close.

Any shape as long as it runs on the track and fits in the 2.5 x 7 inch box

No wheel bearings, washers or bushings allowed.

No spring suspension.

No starting device.

Dry lubricant only

There is a good book available at the scout store that will help with more ideas.

I am looking for the software, track, scales and box from last year.

I will need a couple of volunteer’s to run the scale, judge, inspect, and start.
